I am Kaitlyn Abadia, LCSW and co-founder of a non-profit that provides trauma informed therapy to foster and adoptive children and their families. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and writing my thesis on healing developmental trauma through specific interventions in treatment. I have attended training for play therapy, sand tray, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma treatment for families.
My background of working with children in the child welfare system as well as foster children in a group home setting has inspired me to find a way to meet the needs of those who do not receive the services they desperately need. Every child deserves to have someone they can trust to talk about feelings, learn how to cope with what they have been through, and be empowered to thrive despite the circumstances they have been placed in by no fault of their own. The therapy services that I provide aim to promote healing through play, sand tray, and trauma informed car.
