Dawn Shedrick, LCSW-R, is the founder and CEO of JenTex Training & Consulting, a professional development company that designs and delivers live and online continuing education workshops to social workers, mental health professionals and human services organizations.
Dawn is a licensed clinical social worker, trainer, consultant and certified life/business coach with a broad range of experience that includes community organizing, case management, clinical practice, community health education and executive administration. Her interests and expertise lie in mental health equity for LGBTQ and gender nonconforming people across the lifespan, culturally competent trauma-informed treatment and healing models for LGBTQ trauma survivors, case management, program development and supervision. She has delivered training to social workers and allied professionals throughout the U.S. and abroad in Canada, Puerto Rico, Tanzania and China.
In addition to her training and consulting in the health and human services, she has also designed and delivered mental and emotional wellness and LGBTQ inclusion seminars in corporate workplaces in including Travelers Insurance, JP Morgan Chase, GE, NY Mets Administration, Office Depot, GlaxoSmithKline, National Grid, Columbia University, Barnard College, St. John’s University and Canon USA North American Headquarters.
Dawn serves on the Board of Directors of the Network for Social Work Management and is a lecturer at the Columbia University School of Social Work and St. Joseph’s College (NY) Department of Human Services.
