Virtual Crisis Intervention with Children and Youth
Children and youth are increasingly experiencing mental health issues, but their access to services can be limited. Telephone helplines are primarily used by adults, while youth struggle to reach out. One element that has precipitated a change in youth’s ability to access support is the creation of online text and chat services. These services allow youth to get support through their SMS-capable phones or their computers 24/7 wherever they are.
