Using Climate Change Communications Research to Engage the Montgomery County Community in Action
This session describes the innovative work undertaken by a climate change action workgroup in Montgomery County, Maryland, in which communications research was used to shape a series of recommendations for how to communicate effectively with community members to drive changes in behavior. The recommendations offer strategies for internal and external communications intended to drive knowledge, efficacy and belief changes in order to spur individual action on climate change and increase community support for actions taken by the county.

3. Identify a core message frame that has been shown to improve audience reception toward taking climate change action.
