Primary Healthcare – What Impacts Could We Have Using a Holistic Model (New Zealand)
In New Zealand, most mental health professionals and social workers are employed by hospital boards and work within the confines of the hospital to help provide patient care. This is a presentation about the long term effects of general practitioners and social workers in primary health care could impact the overall wellness and social well being for the patient. This session will explore impacts on the individual, their wider family and the economical strengthens and barries for the country as a whole. How do we convince funders to see a bigger picture and allow practitioners to move away from the medical model to a holistic model?
